Although I was only at Allegro for one short year, I am blessed to have had the opportunity to train with the best of the best and take away memories and friendships that will last forever.

I was immediately welcomed with open arms when arriving my senior year of high school, looking for a studio to challenge and push me. This studio turned out to be much more then a facility to help me train, but rather became my home away from home.

Dancing at Allegro eventually lead me to Chapman University, where I graduated with honors earning my BFA in dance and am now proudly working as an international professional dancer. My time on Vivace showed me the true meaning of being on a team and working with others to achieve goals and pursue our passions.

I started with Allegro when I was 12 years old and started taking tap classes again 7 years after I first put tap shoes on. My first Allegro showcase was with my mother in “Car Wash.” I will never forget the feeling of finding a form of dance that felt so much a part of me than any other form.

I was never very flexible, I did not have a ballet build, but when I put tap shoes on everything felt right in the world of dance. I credit Allegro for my love for tap flourishing.

Next to that love was the group of dancers that were made into lifelong friends. We have all gone our separate ways now but when we all get back together it is like nothing ever changed.

Allegro is not just about dance, it is about being a supportive, loving family.

  • I am going into my 6th year of living in NYC and my 2nd year working my current job at Theatre Development Fund.

  • I work on programs that help people with disabilities see Broadway and off-Broadway productions.

  • I take pole fitness classes, rock climb, and hike any chance I get but hope to strike up the courage to get back into a dance studio someday.

  • I am working on becoming fluent in American Sign Language.

  • I graduated High School (and thus Allegro) in 2007.

I was constantly inspired at Allegro both as a person and an artist. My relationship with Tonya and Tiffany and the rest of the staff is the best thing I have taken away from my time at Allegro.

They will be life long mentors that I will always want to be involved in my life. I cannot thank Allegro enough for equipping me with skills I now use to be the best person and performer I can be.

Graduated June of 2011

I will always cherish the memories I have of dancing at Allegro. From building strong relationships to falling in love with the unique flow of each style, it helped me grow as a person and has shaped who I am today. Through dance, I learned to appreciate and grow from criticism, to constantly strive for improvement and also to find a balance of discipline and determination within myself to achieve goals in all aspects of my life.  Looking back, I loved the environment within my dance classes because everyone was there to work hard, but still have fun doing what they love.

Currently working at Microsoft as a Design Developer.

•Planning for a wedding since I recently got engaged!

•Recently completed the STP, a 205 mile bike ride from Seattle to Portland. Training for a half marathon next!

•Living in South Lake Union and spending my evenings playing golf, paddle boarding and doing yoga.

One of my favorite Allegro memories was from our final showcases on team, when we performed our Senior Solos.  We’d sit onstage to watch the others dance, and when they were finished dancing, we’d immediately run up to hug them.  It was such a great, meaningful way to see how far we’ve all come, and remind ourselves that there’s so much more to come!

Allegro gave me my foundation--not only in dance and in the professional world, but in being a decent human being. The friendships I have gained from this place are irreplaceable and forever special in my heart.

When I think of Allegro I think of passion, grit, growing from the inside out, plenty of belly laughs, and most of all, home.
